9 August 2022 Simplified authoring experience in Qlik Cloud: Full availability Share this message Simplified authoring is now the default creation experience for Qlik Cloud. This new interface surfaces frequently-used design components to help you quickly and easily build beautiful and sophisticated charts and visualizations. Simplified authoring accelerates creation for everyone, and particularly new and less-experienced users because it offers a short learning curve, advanced filtering options, and the ability to explore data as you perform analysis. Through the new experience, organizations can extend governed self-service creation and analysis to more users than ever before, further reducing reliance on analysts and IT. Key features: Assets panel: Displays field types and shows values; also displays master items, which can be selected for your chart or visualization. Properties panel: Includes a Data area; Autochart, which provides more than 30 visualization choices, allows you to include or exclude dimension values by ticking boxes; and a Presentation area, where you can choose sorting, coloring, labeling, styling, tooltips, and axis options. SmartGrid: A placeholder for your visualizations, which automatically adjusts the size so they fit within your sheet. Also, easily add charts by clicking on “+” to the right and below the grid. Data table: Explore data and inspect fields and values from tables loaded within Qlik Cloud. Make selections within the table to pinpoint areas of interest and analysis. The advanced authoring experience is just a click away for those who prefer the classic look and feel, or need to satisfy additional use cases. Swapcard’s AI and matchmaking modules can be leveraged to engage audience & generate leads for exhibitors and sponsors. Use cases will revolve around data resources such as event management alerts, notifications, managing event information like attendees, speakers, exhibitors, etc. Getting started using Swapcard in Application Automation DataRobot (updated)—Dedicated prediction API support has been added to the DataRobot connector. The DataRobot enterprise AI platform accelerates and democratizes data science by automating the end-to-end journey from data to value. Users will now be able to get predictions from a deployed model, get prediction explanations from a deployed model, and get predictions from a deployed time series’ model. UIPath (updated)—You can now add a Run Job block to the UIPath connector and set a Timeout period in the Start Job block. UIPath offers an end-to-end platform for automation; combining the leading Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution with a full suite of capabilities and techs like AI, Process Mining, and Cloud to enable every organization to rapidly scale digital business operations. Getting started using the UIPath connector in Application Automation Connector blocks Templates A new Github load script management template verifies the load script of a Qlik Sense app from a new Github pull request. Using templates Updates to Application Automation Six new webhooks have been added in order for customers to be able to better monitor their automations and automation runs in their own tenant spaces. Users are able to maintain control of target automations and trigger an automation when either an automation gets created, updated, or deleted or when an automation run starts, fails, or finishes. Users are able to trace where data used in a block originates from with a simple pop-up that provides a connection visualization. Support has been added for automation webhook events such as run automation (examples: sending Slack messages, reloading apps, notifying users of results) when another automation changes state (for example, when an automation finishes). Filtering on events and automation IDs is also supported. Not supported in Qlik Cloud Government. Updates to scripting topics Scripting topics covering date and time functions, number interpretation, and scripting prefixes have been improved.
